Welcome to COM Week 2026

Started by Rosemary Tutt more than 20 years ago, the goal of the first COM Week was to offer students in St. Augustine the chance to network with professionals the way that students in bigger schools or bigger cities could.

That mission still stands today - connecting students to communication professionals from around the world and opening their eyes to the breadth of opportunities available for students who study communication. Over the years, speakers have included Pulitzer Prize winners, authors, war correspondents, digital content creators, agency executives, photographers, health communicators, not-for-profit founders, producers, directors, influencers, filmmakers, countless Flagler grads and more. The week also serves to highlight and celebrate students' projects and achievements both in their work at Flagler College and after graduation.

COM Week 2026
What's the Story?

Pull up a chair and sit a spell, as we kick off our 20th COM Week talking about "Building COM-munity." In a world where the media is increasingly blamed for polarizing audiences and pitting sides against each other, we are going to explore the power of communication in fostering connection and strengthening communities. This event will bring together experts, practitioners, and Flagler students in communication to share their insights and experiences on how effective communication can build bridges, spark collaboration, and create a sense of belonging among diverse groups.

Through a series of thought-provoking sessions, panel discussions, and workshops, student will gain valuable knowledge and practical skills to enhance their communication strategies and contribute to building thriving, inclusive communities. Discover innovative approaches to communication and learn from real-world challenges and successes, as we explore the vital role of communication in shaping our communities.

So lean back, kick up your feet and join us some for COM-munity building March 10 to March 13.
